The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook reckons Chelsea will see off Arsenal but Newcastle might scrape a draw at Man City.
Man City v Newcastle – ESPN, Sun 13.30:
On Sunday Manchester City (1/2 William Hill) take on Newcastle (15/2 Victor Chandler) at Eastlands. Roberto Mancini’s team were given a tough run out against Juventus on Thursday but with the amount of players he has available he can easily shuffle his pack Emmanuel Adebayor will be playing again after a run out in Europa League and is 9/2 for first goalscorer at Skybet.
Newcastle are a tough nut to crack and a cheeky bet on 7/2 (Ladbrokes) for the draw might be worth a risk. But don’t put your house on it.
Chelsea v Arsenal – Skysports 2, Sun 16.00:
Carlo Ancelotti is not a man who likes losing, and it will be an emotional time for the Italian this weekend. His father has just passed away with the funeral taking place on Saturday.
You would not normally expect something like this to have an impact on a football match, but Chelsea is like a family – and I think the players will be playing for their boss even more against Arsenal.
The Blues also love beating Arsenal (4/1 Betfred) and will be desperate to get one over on them, a result William Hill put 4/5 about.
On that basis I think that Chelsea will win this title and London derby, probably 2-0. It is a big call but one I am confident with, particularly at home, and the odds with Paddy Power for that scorline is 15/2 which does offer some value.
