Live On Sky Sports 3: Thu From 06:00. Angus Loughran previews this week’s Valderrama Masters and CIMB Asia Pacific Classic.
Martin Kaymer is a deserved market leader at 13/2 (Betfred) for this weeks Andalucia Valderrama Masters and is clearly the one they all have to beat but I like the chances of Englishman Simon Dyson at 30/1 (Skybet). Dyson only just missed out on the European Ryder Cup team and has been playing really great golf recently as well as having course form when losing in playoff to Justin Rose here three years ago.
Gary Boyd, who let a winning chance slip on Sunday’s back nine, is also worth taking another chance with at 45/1 with Stan James. Matteo Manassero has withdrawn in order to get a Visa to play in next weeks high profile HSBC Champions event in China.
Sergio Garcia, who was worth opposing last week as a short favourite, looks a more backable prospect here at 33/1 with Coral as he has had 8 top 10 finishes during his pro career here and feels very much at home on this track.
The PGA Tour is in Malaysia this week in the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic with Indian Arjun Atwal the only course winner in the field. Ryan Palmer at 40/1 looks the value each way with Sportingbet while South Africans Ernie Els and Retief Goosen should both play well and are available at 10/1 (Ladbrokes) and 14/1 (Totesport) respectively.
