A winner on this card last year Alvarado (2:30) followed up at the Cumbrian venue last November and is fancied to make a winning start to his chasing career at Carlisle on Friday.
Howard Johnson’s charge is closely related to smart staying chaser Character Building and Timmy Murphy is an eye-catching booking.
Another previous course winner to side with is Kirklees (2:45) in York’s 1m2f condition stakes.
Winner of the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes last July, the Godolphin six-year-old should be spot on for this following his belated reappearance in the Doonside Cup at Ayr last month.
He travelled like the best horse in the race before blowing up and is fancied to reverse form with King’s Gambit on better terms. The stable continues to fire on all cylinders.
