Ladbrokes face a £275,000 payout on the Ryder Cup after taking a £100,000 bet from a punter in favour of the USA
The bookie have been forced to cut Corey Pavin’s team to win at Celtic Manor into 13/8 from 7/4 as a result of the punt.
Ladbrokes are offering 87 markets for this weekend’s showpiece and are anticipating a record number of bets for the event.
Europe have been pushed out to 8/13 from 4/7, with the tie a 10/1 chance. Meanwhile Tiger Woods is 8/1 to put his recent poor form behind him and be top point scorer, with Rory McIlroy 10/1.
David Williams of Ladbrokes told betrescue.com “The Ryder Cup always brings out the heavyweight money – and the opening gambit has been fired in favour of the Americans.”
