Football Betting: Live On Sky Sports 1: Sun 13.30 & 16.00: The Star’s Chief Football writer gives his verdict on today’s televised matches at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge
Manchester United v Liverpool – Sun – Skysports 1, 13.30:
Form generally goes out of the window when it comes to the titanic battles between Manchester United and Liverpool. Two years ago the Kop kings visited Old Trafford and won 4-1 with a Fernando Torres inspired performance. The striker has been out of sorts, but if there is one game you would expect him to perform in it would be this one.
Antonio Valencia’s injury is a real blow to United because he supplied so much ammunition last season for Wayne Rooney. For me this could be United’s third draw out of four in the Premier League which could see them trailing Chelsea by a massive six points if the Blues take maximum points against Blackpool; the draw is 11/4 at Victor Chandler. This could actually end up a tight game and an interesting bet is 10/1 (Stan James) for no goal at all.
Chelsea v Blackpool – Sun – Skysports 1, 16.00:
Chelsea will walk the game against Blackpool at Stamford Bridge. Ian Holloway’s side though have been scoring goals, but they might only sneak one. Anytime goalscorers interest me in this game and at the moment John Terry, who is always a threat, is 6/1 to score in the game with Skybet, while Blackpool’s inspirational Charlie Adam is 7/1 at Ladbrokes. Both are worth putting money on.
