Football Betting: Live On Sun: ESPN 13:30 & SS1 16:00
The Daily Star’s Chief Football Writer previews Sunday’s clashes between Newcastle United and Aston Villa and Fulham and Man Utd.
Newcastle V Aston Villa: Live On ESPN: Sunday 13:30
Newcastle United (23/10 Bodog) did not look that bad at Old Trafford, despite the fact they were trounced, and there home games are going to be the key to keeping them up.
The fact that Aston Villa (7/5 Paddy Power) have played in Europe this week, and lost James Milner, makes Ladbrokes‘ 12/5 about the draw at St James’ Park a good bet.
Fulham V Man United: Live On Sky Sports 1: Sunday 16:00
Manchester United (8/13 totesport) have lost at Fulham for the last two seasons in a row. I had them 2-0 up at Newcastle at half-time and then winning 3-0 so maybe they
are my lucky club. But facing Mark Hughes’ team at the Cottage is different to the Toon Army.
Incredibly though, despite those two recent wins Fulham
are a big looking 11/2 at 888Sport, but perhaps the home side with a goal start on the handicaps is the most attractive bet of the game at 11/8 with Paddy Power
Man City V Liverpool: Live On Sky Sports 1: Monday 20:00
On Monday night Manchester City (11/8 William Hill) take on Liverpool (23/10 Betfred) and the games are coming thick and fast for Roberto Mancini’s team. They were very defensive away to Spurs, but at home you would expect them to rip into teams and Liverpool looked slow out of the blocks against Arsenal.
I like the bets of both teams to score at even money with Blue Square and Paddy Power‘s 10/3 for exactly three goals in the game because there is a lot of pride at stake and neither team will roll over.
