Football Betting: League 2 action this weekend sees flying Torquay go to Vale Park but Port Vale could prove to be tricky opponents in a full weekend programme. Compare League 2 odds.
Torquay have taken maximum points from three games without conceding a goal but their excellent start to the campaign could be curtailed this weekend as they make the tricky trip to Port Vale. The hosts are a chunky 11/8 with bet365 to collect all three points against the Gulls and the man that can make the difference for them is Marc Richards, who has netted in each of his last two and is 9/2 (888Sport) to break the deadlock in this one.
In what is a tough-to-call division with only a couple of odds-on favourites, we’re going to recommend a couple more long shots. Firstly, Gillingham have looked nervy on home soil so far this term but at a chunky 11/5 with William Hill they can play with a little more freedom on the road and secure their first win at Morecambe, in what looks set to be a low-scoring encounter with fewer than 2.5 goals (4/6, Partybets).
Aldershot also catch the eye at 5/4 with Victor Chandler to see off Stevenage while at evens (Stan James) aided by a goal start in the handicaps, Hills’ 4/1 outsiders Accrington have been underestimated at Oxford.
Finally, Burton ran out 3-2 winners last weekend while Cheltenham were going down 6-4 at Rotherham and the Robins last home match ended 3-2, so it’s fair to assume that goals will be on the agenda as the Brewers head to Whaddon Road, where Jaxx.com post a tasty 19/20 against a match tally of more than 2.5.
