TENNIS BETTING: Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt are the main contenders for the Atlanta Open while over in Germany, Gael Monfils could rock the apple cart in Hamburg.
Atlanta Open:
Andy Roddick is heavy 6/4 fav with Coral for the Atlanta Open this week and the world ranked 9th should have no excuses in reaching the final, the only real opposition in his half of the draw comes in the form of 4th seed Horacio Zeballos (66/1 Bet365) and perhaps Mardy Fish (10/1 Skybet).
Lleyton Hewitt is the threat in the other half. Whilst John Isner takes 2nd seed due to rankings, Hewitt, a 5/1 shot at Ladbrokes, is climbing steadily back to form and this is a great chance for him to get a title under his belt.
Hamburg Open:
Davydenko will be desparate to get back to winning ways after a dismal showing in last week’s Mercedes Cup and is 11/2 2nd fav with Betfred to defend his Hamburg title.
The dangerous David Ferrer will have plenty to say about that though, he is 5/1 with Paddy Power to triumph.
Gael Monfils, who came so close to winning in the Mercedes Cup but fell out in the final due to injury, seems like a solid bet here, the 14/1 at Stan James looks like a decent price.
