HORSE RACING: AP McCoy has leap-frogged Wayne Rooney into top spot for Sports Personality of The Year Award in December, William Hill shortening to 9/2 from 8/1.
Wayne Rooney can all but rule out claiming the BBC awards ceremony towards the end of 2010 after his petulant outburst following the Algeria bore draw.
Rooney is 10/1 at Betfred, 3rd fav, and Andy Murray lies in wait at 6/1 with Victor Chandler. Murray will surely become the new fav if he achieves a final appearance in Wimbledon to go with his Aussie Open final earlier in 2010 but that is a big ‘if’; the Scotsman’s form has been poor of late.
McCoy won the Grand National back in April and hopes to become the 1st ever jockey to win the award. He is 9/2 at Totesport and William Hill.
Elsewhere, F1 star Lewis Hamilton is 12/1 with Coral and heavyweight boxer David Haye is 14/1 at Betfred.
