TENNIS BETTING: Live on BBC from 12.00: Week 2 of Wimbledon begins and Nadal is losing sight of Roger Federer in the markets. Murray remains firm at 11/2. Compare all Wimbledon Odds.
Mens
Roger Federer is 7/4 fav at William Hill after a straight sets win over Arnaud Clement in the round of 32. In contrast, Rafa Nadal has drifted to 4/1 at Paddy Power after a 2nd successive 5 set brawl, this time with German Philipp Petzschner.
With a last 16 tie today against Paul-Henri Mathieu, Nadal should come through at 1/8 with Boylesports but is on a collision course for a quarter final with Robin Soderling. Soderling is 6/1 with Stan James to win the title and he could be the man to make to final against Federer, exploiting Nadal’s uncertainty.
Andy Murray, who faces Gilles Simon, is 11/2 at Totesport to win and whilst he is playing well, he would fall against Federer, with whom he shares the top half of the draw.
Womens
Serena and Venus ineviatably dominate the women’s market, Serena at 11/8 with Bet365, sister Venus at 5/2 with Boylesports.
Justine Henin, a fancied 10/1 shot with Stan James must play fellow Belgian Kim Clijsters in the last 16 in a very tight encounter.
Maria Sharapova has finally drifted to 12/1 with Victor Chandler as she has ran into top seed Serena Williams and would be doubtful to progress.
One to watch may be Caroline Wozniacki at 16/1 with Skybet. She has a relatively easy run to the semi finals, where admittedly she potentially would play S Williams but a head of steam could take her into the final.
