SPOTY BETTING: The England players of the 2010 World Cup squad have been removed from the betting for the 2010 Sports Personality Of The Year Award leaving Tony McCoy as 4/1 fav.
Tony McCoy and Andy Murray are left as the front runners for the BBC award at the end of the year after the flops of England’s World Cup squad were all removed.
McCoy is 4/1 with Ladbrokes and Murray as large as 11/2 with Totesport. 7 England players were on the list, Wayne Rooney most notably at 7/1 but now he has gone, the whole market looks wide open. A Wimbledon win for Murray will surely make him hot fav but anything else but the title would just be celebrating mediocrity if he were to be given the SPOTY gong.
Racing driver Lewis Hamilton is 12/1 with Stan James as he continues his assault on the F1 title and golfer Graeme McDowell is 10/1 at Coral, following success at the US Open.
