CRICKET BETTING: Live on SkySports1: Sun 10:30: England v Australia in the 3rd ODI of the series, England must feel they can turn the screw at Old Trafford.
In something of an injustice, England are still not clear favs at the majority of bookies for the 3rd ODI between themselves and Australia. Betfred have England as 4/5 and Australia best priced at 1/1 but most, such as Blue Square, Bet365 and Skybet, all take the stance as 10/11 equal fav.
England have taken the first 2 ODI’s with some panache and would feel the favourite tag would be well justified by now but obviously there is a air of expectancy that ‘the Aussie’s will win eventually’, or perhaps the bookies are simply scared of pricing an Australian one-day team at higher than evens.
England can and will continue to turn the screw in Manchester and can secure the series on Sunday with a 3rd victory. England are only 1/7 with Stan James to take the best of 5 now, Australia 5/1 if you fancy they can take all 3 remaining (Boylesports).
Eoin Morgan top scored again for England in Cardiff but it was a much more rounded batting performance – Collingwood just shy of making it 3 batsmen with half centuries. Pietersen had a decent knock of 33 and showed more to come, his 10/3 at Totesport to top score for England may be worth a look.
Both of Australia’s innings have been built around one large individual score; 87 by Clarke in the 1st followed by 86 by White in the 2nd. It seems that the rest of the team did step it up a little in the 2nd ODI and perhaps England need to be wary of growing frustration in Ricky Ponting, who is yet to blaze. Ponting is 7/2 with Victor Chandler to top knock for the Aussies.
