RUGBY UNION BETTING: LIVE on Skysports 2: Sat 08.30 & 10.30: The Chiefs v NSW Waratahs in NZ followed by Brumbies v Highlanders in Canberra. Check all Super 14 odds and bet at the best prices.
The NSW Waratahs travel to Hamilton in Waikato, New Zealand, to take on the Chiefs. The Canberra based Waratahs are 8/11 to win with Bet365, as they welcome back Benn Robinson and Rob Horne after 4 weeks out with injury. The Chiefs can be backed at 11/10, also with Bet365. The Waratahs make a number of changes to their line up, with new players in at no.s 9, 10, 12 and 13 in an attempt to overrun a Chiefs team who have only won once at home in 6 attempts. The Chief’s inability to land wins at their own stadium has cost them dear this season and even if they get maximum points from the remaining 2 games, their playoff chances are just about over. The Waratahs are 5th in the table, 1 point off the playoff places and a good win here, with a bonus point, will likely propel them into 4th.
Another playoff chasing team, The Brumbies, will also be hoping for maximum points as they take on struggling Highlanders at the Canberra Stadium. The Brumbies are 1/6 with Betfair to win as they welcome back Stirling Mortlock, a key player if they are to make the playoffs. Highlanders’ win last weekend over NSW Waratahs will be a boost but Brumbies will have too much for them.
The Brumbies are a 2/1 shot for the playoffs with Sportingbet. They are currently 6th, 2 points off the pace but this weekend they can pick up all 5 points whilst Crusaders travel to top placed Bulls. Then, in the final round, Brumbies face Crusaders for what will effectively be a playoff for the top 4. Crusaders are still 4/6 for the playoffs (Sportingbet) and 7/1 for the Grand Final win (Betdaq). The Bulls are 11/8 with Boylesports to convert their current top place into a Grand Final win.
