POLITICS BETTING: The leaders of the 3 main parties have been through 3 televised debates and we are locked in a 3 horse race for the May 6th General Election. Check latest election odds.
Nick Clegg has been the major success story of the live debates as the Lib Dems are, for the first time in many voter’s lives, in a position to perhaps win a General Election.
Admittedly, the chance is remote. Ladbrokes have 50/1 on Clegg and co pulling off a majority but it is testament to the party that they are being seen as the major upsetters. While Brown is desperately trying to shake a lame duck image, Cameron has done nothing to really sway the public to his side. Its Clegg who has shone as an example of something different, “a change” as the Conservatives have peddled.
A hung Parliament is therefore the favourite outcome, bet365 going 4/6 on no majority. After a reasonable showing on the 3rd and final debate, Cameron and the Conservatives have been pushed in slightly to 5/4 (totesport). The Tories are heavy fav to win most seats in Parliament, 1/6 with William Hill, but that does not equal majority necessarily.
The Lib Dems currently hold 63 seats in Parliament, Ladbrokes offer 13/8 that they will get 100+, which could well be a reality come 7 days time.
