FOOTBALL BETTING: Live on SkySports 1: Sat 18.00 & Sun 13.00: The Playoffs stage in League 2 sees Aldershot Town v Rotherham United followed by Dagenham & Redbridge v Morecambe.
To say, the four-way play-off tussle in League Two is tough-to-call, would be something of an understatement given that only a point separated Morecambe and Rotherham in fourth and fifth, from Aldershot and Dagenham, who complete the line-up.
It’s the Shrimps, on the back of three straight wins, that currently head the betting with some firms, Betdaq quoting them at 5/2 for promotion but underlining how evenly matched the quartet are; both Stan James and William Hill price all four sides at 13/5.
At 3/1 with Victor Chandler however, Aldershot are the stand out wager. The Shots’ form is solid, the last day reverse against Morecambe excepted and in the semi-final they look a banker at evens (Totesport) to get the better of a faltering Rotherham side, who have scored only three times in nine recent outings.
Kevin Dillon’s side are a tasty 5/4 with Betfred to see off the Millers in Saturday’s first leg at the Recreation Ground and they can do enough at home to make their task at the Don Valley Stadium much easier; Totesport rating Shots at 12/5 to win ‘to nil’ against their goal-shy opponents and Paddy Power pricing them at 9/1 to notch twice without reply.
In Sunday’s clash at Victoria Road, bet365 make Dagenham and Redbridge their 6/5 favourites to rack up a first leg lead but at 5/2 (Betfred), Sammy McIlroy’s men can boost their chances of reaching Wembley by nicking a draw in a fixture that is an eye-catching 16/1 with 888Sport to finish two-each.
For the more cautious, the Shrimps are 8/13 with Paddy Power to avoid defeat and they’re 10/11 courtesy of Ladbrokes to reach Wembley.
