FOOTBALL BETTING: Wayne Rooney is heavy favourite to win the PFA Player of The Year award, Ladbrokes have 1/25 about him, suggesting the trophy is already on its way to Manchester.
Rooney’s competition comes in the form of Carlos Tevez, Cesc Fabregas and Didier Drogba.
Tevez leads the chase, according to Ladbrokes, at 10/1.
Wayne Rooney has been in imperious form this season, perhaps only eclipsed in Europe by Leo Messi. The bullish Scouser has scored 26 league goals in 29 games and has added a further 8 in various cup games.
Carlos Tevez has found the form of his life though, netting 22 league goals in 28 games, with a further 6 cup goals. Given that Tevez only had 4 goals at the beginning of December, he has embarked on a sensational goal scoring run. By comparison Rooney already had 12 by December.
Ladbrokes make both Drogba and Fabregas 20/1 for the award. Both players have had great seasons but it seems as though it’s a two-way battle between the two Manchester based men, even if Rooney looks to have it wrapped up.
