HORSE RACING: A look at some of today’s market moves in the ante post horse racing markets, including Saturday’s 2000 Guineas. Compare latest odds for ante post horse racing.
2000 Guineas:
St Nicholas Abbey continues to get the treatment ahead of Saturday’s big event, Victor Chandler have trimmed him from 6/4 to 11/8. Most firms remain at 6/4 but Stan James have finally been tempted into 6/4 from 13/8. Victor Chandler’s Neal Wilkins expects the red hot fav to shorten further before the race.
There has been some interest on Fencing Master, the stable-mate of St Nicholas Abbey, Totesport moving from 16’s to 10/1, Skybet also chopping from 16’s but to 12/1. Ladbrokes have stood firm at 16/1. It would appear punters perhaps fancy a repeat of 2002, when Aidan O’Brien’s heavy fav Hawk Eye was beaten by 2nd choice Rock Of Gibraltar.
1000 Guineas:
Hibaayeb, the Godolphin runner shortened in The Oaks recently, was moved in to 25/1 from 33’s by Victor Chandler only this morning, but as of midday today (Wednesday) has been sliced to 14’s. There is a general movement towards Godolphin and The Classics.
Pollenator is also proving very popular, Betfred are 12/1 to 8/1 and Victor Chandler go from 12’s to 8/1 for Richard Hannon’s horse.
The Oaks:
William Hill have shortened Pollenator in The Oaks, 20/1 down to 16’s, displaying a wide interest in Hannon’s horse.
Chester Cup:
Stan James have shortened Majestic Concorde into 20/1 from 33/1.
