Angus Loughran previews this week’s Shell Houston Open odds and likes the each way chances of outsiders Lee Westwood and Bubba Watson.
With the return of Tiger only a week away it is fascinating to see where the money is going ahead of next week’s Masters. Tiger has plenty of supporters at 4/1 across the board while William Hill offer 8/1 on him missing the cut.
The locals at Isleworth, his home, all say he is ready and will be hard to beat but there are plenty who feel his task is impossible without having played any competetive golf this year, one big winner will be The Exchanges as this senario is tailor made for them.
Ernie Els is closing in on Phil Mickleson (9/1 888Sport) for 2nd Fav spot at 12/1 with Paddy Power following his Florida double triumph at Doral and Bay Hill.
A strong European presence in Houston for the Shell Open as final preperations for Augusta take place and Lee Westwood looks a great price at 25/1 with bet365 here I am expecting a big fotnight from The European Number 1.
Bubba Watson is due a win and at 66/1 looks overpriced at Ladbrokes this week which has a srong field but is very much a side show ahead of the big one at Augusta.
