Welsh Victor Higgins 11/2 For World Title

SNOOKER BETTING: Sportingbet have cut John Higgins into 11/2 second favourite from 15/2 to win the World Championship in April after the ‘Wizard of Wishaw’ won the Welsh Open.

Higgins, who turned over world number one Ronnie O’ Sullivan in the semi finals beat defending champion Ali Carter 9-4 in the Welsh Open final on Sunday night and the Scotsman has now over taken “The Rocket” in the provisional rankings.

O’Sullivan remains Skybet‘s 4/1 favourite for the Blue Ribbon event in Sheffield in two months with Mark Selby behind Higgins in the betting at 8/1 with Blue Square.

Ding Junhui is 12/1 at Betfred, Shaun Murphy can be backed at the same price with 888Sport, Paddy Power make Stephen Maguire 14/1, Neil Robertson is also 14s at William Hill, Mark William is 20/1 with Ladbrokes and its 25/1 bar the rest.
