DARTS BETTING: Betfred make Phil Nicholson 50/1 for the PDC World title after the giant killer won his first major title at the Players Championship, beating Phil Taylor and then Mervyn King.
Seeded 31 before the event at the Circus Tavern, Nicholson produced the form of his life to claim the £60,000 first prize which saw him rise to 16th in the PDC Order of Merit.
Runner up King is 40/1 at totesport for the big one and 16/1 with Boylesports to win the Premier League which gets underway next week.
Taylor, suprisingly beaten 10-9 in the semi finals by Nicholson remains Sportingbet‘s 2/5 favourite to retain the Premier League and 4/7 for a 16th World title in December.
