HORSE RACING: Following Saturday’s racing there were a number of market moves ahead of the Cheltenham Festival, including Dunguib, Day Of A Lifetime, Finian’s Rainbow and Oscar Whisky.
Coral.co.uk has cut Dunguid into 8/11 from 5/6 for the Spinal Research Supreme Novices Hurdle after closest rival Menorah (previously 7/1) was beaten at Ascot on Saturday.
Menorah is now 12/1 at William Hill for the big race at Prestbury Park while his conqueror at Ascot Lush Life has been slashed into 33/1 from 50s by Betfred for the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle.
Coral’s David Stevens told betrescue.com “We were hoping Menorah would win and then give Dunguib plenty to think about next month, but on this evidence, the Irish star could be even more of a banker bet on the opening day of the Festival”.
Sportingbet has cut Oscar Whisky from 20/1 to 12s for the Supreme Novices Hurdle, following his facile success at Sandown as Nicky Henderson and Barry Geraghty’s charge
maintained his unbeaten record in fine style.
Willie Mullins’ weekend winner Day Of a Lifetime is into 12/1 from 16s at Ladbrokes for the Champion Bumper at the Festival after further support. David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “The annual plunge on the Mullins Bumper horses is now fully underway. Day Of A Lifetime remains 12/1 but that price looks certain to contract sooner rather than later.”
Rite of Passage remains William Hill‘s 7/2 favourite for the Novices Hurdle but Finian’s Rainbow is closing in at 8/1 at Skybet from 10s after taking the opener at Ascot.
Me Voici won at Haydock and is trimmed into 20/1 from 33s by Paddy Power for the Triumph Hurdle and Burton Point is now 201 from 33s at bet365 for the RSA Chase after justifying his odds on price at Ascot.
