HORSE RACING: Our All-weather tipster Alan Thomson, former racing editor of the Daily Record, pulls out three more potential bookie bashing tips that are running at Lingfield Park on Saturday.
CUPID’S GLORY (3.55) has run into top form over the past three weeks and is fancied to land a trappy little handicap at Lingfield on Saturday.
My selection backed up an improved effort behind prolific scorer Clear Sailing over course and distance with a victory at Kempton. Cupid’s Glory took the scalp of ultra-consistent Benedict Spirit that day and he still looks well treated despite a 4lb rise, especially with Benedict Spirit (runs in the 3.20 race) only giving way to Houston Dynamo and Quinsman in a three-way photo finish at Wolverhampton last week.
BANKS AND BRAES (2.20) hasn’t carried the Queen’s silks with much distinction so far in his fledgling career but there were grounds for optimism after he hunted up Mark Johnston’s Lovers Causeway over 10 furlongs here last month. The winner has gone in again and Richard Hannon’s charge could be something of a late developer. Johnston is represented by Understory, a flop here when made favourite over six furlongs in mid-January, and he is surely capable of better, especially over this longer trip.
PIPBROOK MINISTAR (4.30) was all at sea on her debut here on February 3 but she found her stride in the straight to take second spot behind the heavily gambled Arry’s Horse, running in the colours of Harry Redknapp. Pipbrook Ministar should know more about the game now and is fancied to take care of Takajan, who has become a shade disappointing, and Mint Whip.
Tally Ho
Alan
