HORSE RACING: Our All-weather tipster Alan Thomson, former racing editor of the Daily Record, pulls out three more potential bookie bashing tips that are running at Wolverhampton on Saturday night.
GET ready for some Saturday night fever at Wolverhampton, with CRAZY CHRIS (9.20) well worth the wait in the finale.
My nap was an expensive failure here at the beginning of the month when sent off a heavily-supported 5-4 favourite. He was made to look a shade one-paced by the strong-travelling winner, Formidable Guest, but deserves another chance on the strength of an earlier victory at Kempton when pipping the bang in form Thunderstruck. Chief rival Quinsman goes from strength-to-strength, posting a gutsy victory at Lingfield (1m 5f) when rallying to deny Admirable Duque earlier this month. However, another 6lb rise won’t make life any easier.
WETHERBY PLACE (6.50) looked a potential improver when staying on steadily into third behind Stanley Goodspeed and Lopinot at Lingfield. She hasn’t much to find on the book to play a prominent part in the finish of the amateur riders’ handicap, with Michael Wigham booking a talented 7lb claimer to race from a favourable inside draw. Consistent Alfredtheordinary looks the one to beat.
VITTACHI (7.20) was no match for Keenes Royale and The Great Husk here over 1m 4f on January 21 but clearly acts well on the track, having posted another sound effort when chasing home Rock a Doodle Doo over 9f three days earlier.
Keenes Royale went in again at Kempton in midweek and, although Vittachi has a bit to find strictly on ratings with Tiger Hawk and Clayton Flick, James Bethell’s three-year-old is well worth an interest.
Tally Ho
Alan
