Chelsea returned to the top of the League after beating Birmingham 3-0 on Wednesday and they are 8/11 at Ladbrokes to win the title. Man Utd are out to 3/1 totesport and Arsenal 4s (bet365)
United didnt play so slip to second having played a game more than Chelsea whilst Arsenal, on the same points and games played as the champions were held to a goalless draw by Aston Villa.
Martin O’Neill’s side remain in seventh place and are out to 5/1 at Partybets to claim a champions league place.
Despite Spurs 2-0 victory over Fulham, to retain fourth spot they remain 5/2 at 888sport for a place in Europe’s elite competition next season. Liverpool are three points behind after a nil nil draw at Wolves and can be backed at 9/4 at bet365 for a top four finish. Manchester City, with two games in hand, remain Ladbrokes 6/5 favourites.
At the other end of the table, Portsmouth are huge favourites for the drop at 3/10 (bet365), Hull City are 8/13 for the drop with the same firm and Burnley are 4/6 (Stan James) to return to the Championship.
Totesport make Wolves 5/4 to be in the bottom three at the end of the season, Bolton are 4s with Betdaq and Wigan come into the reckoning at 5/1 with Jaxx.com.
Without doubt, this weekend’s match of the day sees Arsenal (8/5 bet365) entertain Manchester United (2/1 William Hill) at the Emirates on Sunday at 4pm.
The draw can be backed at 9/4 with totesport but with United struggling to find form away, the Gunners are taken to edge it by the odd goal. A 2-1 victory for the home side can be backed at 9/1 at 888Sport.com. Cover this with a bet on the game to produce three goals or more in Victor Chandlers over and unders market at 10/11.
Elsewhere expect home wins for Liverpool (1/2 Bet365), Crystal Palace (8/11 Betfred), Sheffield Wednesday (8/11 totesport), Leeds United (8/13 Ladbrokes) and Rotherham (4/7 Betdaq.co.uk). These five form this week’s accumulator bet which pays combined odds of 10/1 at Partybets.com.
Justine Henin (evens William Hill) will face Serena Williams (19/20 Stan James) in the Australian Open final in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Totesport make the defending champion 9/4 to win the final in straight sets and 11/4 to win 2-1 whilst Henin is 9/4 at Ladrbokes to win 2-1 and 3/1 to win in a deciding set. A two set final is 4/6 at Betfred with three sets an 11/10 chance with 888Sport.
Super League returns to our screens tonight with Leeds 5/4 favourites at Jaxx.com to win the Grand Final for a fourth season in a row and evens at Victor Chandler to win the regular season honours.
St Helens are again expected to be their main rivals with Stan James chalking up odds of 11/4 and 7/2 respectively against the Merseysiders in the same markets.
It’s hard to see past these two but there does appear to be value at the other end of the betting where cash strapped Celtic Crusaders look a belting price at 5/6 with Ladbrokes to finish bottom of the pile.
The Welsh side get proceedings underway in tonight’s televised class on Sky against the Champions. Take the Rhino’s to beat Betfred’s 24 point handicap at 10/11.
Finally golf and William Hill have slashed the price of Tiger Woods playing in the US Masters in Augusta to 1/4 from 4/6 following a sustained plunge from punters in favour of the world number one this week.
Despite his continued absence from the USPGA tour Woods is 5/2 at Hills to win the first Major of the year in April and 1/10 with Betdaq to top the Champions Tour Money List.
