HORSE RACING: Coral has trimmed Punjabi to 8-1 (from 10-1) for a repeat win in the Champion Hurdle, following good support for the seven-year-old.
Also backed for the Smurfit Kappa-sponsored contest has been Voler La Vedette, the mare now 14-1 (from 20-1).
“The Champion Hurdle is the most open of all the Festival championship contests, and the support we’ve seen for Punjabi is the first indication that punters believe he can become a dual winner of the opening day highlight,” said Coral‘s David Stevens.
On a busy day of ante post action, Coral has also seen support for World Hurdle second favourite Karabak, now 11-2 (from 7-1), and Punchestowns, Nicky Henderson’s charge now the 10-3 market leader for the RSA Chase (from 4-1)
