Coral bookmakers have cut the price of the world’s number one golfer Tiger Woods missing the US Masters, after being inundated with bets today.
The Coral price of 6-4 was snapped up early, and then after continual support at 5-4, the Barking firm were forced into 11-10. They bet 4-6 that he lines up for the first major of the season at Augusta.
He has also been backed to quit golf completely before the end of 2010, and is now 16-1 (from 20-1).
We, along with most golf fans, expected a break of a few weeks, but with the shrewd money we saw today, it looks like his return could be months away, if at all, said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.
Woods is 2-9 to break the record of 18 majors set by Jack Nicklaus, and is 3-1 not to.
