HORSE RACING: Following his facile victory in the Tingle Creek, Twist Magic is now a 10/1 shot (from 20/1) with totesport for the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
Twist Magic jumped his rivals ragged to take the Keith Prowse Hospitality Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown this afternoon and is now a 10/1 shot (from 20/1) with totesport for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
Neither Big Zeb nor Well Chief jumped well enough in the testing conditions and finished well beaten and both horses have been eased in the market for the Champion Chase.
Big Zeb is now the 6/1 second favourite (from 7/2) whilst Well Chief is an 8/1 shot (from 6).
Runner-up Forpadydeplasterer has been trimmed into 8/1 (from 10/1) for the same race.
“This year’s renewal of the Tingle Creek has posed more questions than it answered and although Twist Magic clearly loves Sandown, it’s fair to say he’s not the same horse round Cheltenham,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
“Neither Big Zeb nor Well Chief gave their true running in testing conditions and with the current injury problems surrounding Master Minded, this season’s Champion Chase has a very open look about it.”
