Blackpool v West Brom
BLACKPOOL are without the suspended David Vaughan, while Charlie Adam (calf) is out for a fortnight . Ben Burgess and Billy Clarke (both knee) are doubts. Daniel Nardiello has been recalled from loan.
ALBION will give late tests to a couple of players. Scott Carson is still suspended. Robert Koren, James Morrison, Ishmael Miller and Neil Clement are injured.
Bristol City v Reading
The ROBINS are without the injured Ivan Sproule (hamstring), Gavin Williams could start. Louis Carey (groin) could return, oherwise there are no new problems.
READING have Shane Long back after his three-match suspension. Simon Church (back) could be fit, while Ryan Bertrand may also be ready. But Noel Hunt (knee) and Brian Howard (jaw) are still injured.
Cardiff v Leicester
CARDIFF’s Riccardo Scimeca has retired just a day after an operation on his groin. Kelvin Etuhu (ankle) is injured, while Kevin McNaughton (calf) and Peter Whittingham (groin) are concerns.
LEICESTER defender Bruno Berner (calf) is a doubt, although Ryan McGivern could come in. Martyn Waghorn serves the second of his three-match suspension.
Crystal Palace v Barnsley
PALACE hope to have men back after a virus hit the squad – Darren Ambrose and Neil Danns the worst affected. Paddy McCarthy (shoulder) remains their only long-term injury absentee.
BARNSLEY’s Nathan Doyle plays the last game before his loan from Hull runs out. Stephen Foster is pushing to return, otherwise they have few injury concerns.
Derby v Doncaster
DERBY may have Dean Leacock and Rob Hulse (both hamstring) fit in time. On-loan defender Fredrik Stoor (ankle) and Shaun Barker (thigh) are injured, while Miles Addison and Kris Commons are close to returns.
ROVERS have no new injuries or suspensions and could be unchanged. Martin Woods (groin) is still injured.
Nottingham Forest v Preston
FOREST’s Dexter Blackstock and Robert Earnshaw are pushing for recalls, but David McGoldrick could keep his place. Julian Bennett (knee) and Guy Moussi (ankle) are still injured.
PRESTON hope Billy Jones will be fit after his ankle injury – Eddie Nolan could retain his place if not. Youl Mawene (knee) is still injured, along with Barry Nicholson (broken leg).
Peterborough v Watford
POSH have real concerns over Gabriel Zakuani’s groin injury, otherwise there are no fresh injury problems. George Boyd is one booking away from a ban.
WATFORD will give on-loan pair Henri Lansbury (hip) and Craig Cathcart (knee) every chance to prove their fitness, but Jon Harley and Jay DeMerit could start. Ross Jenkins (back) is still out.
Plymouth v Coventry
PLYMOUTH are set to recall on-loan Villa defender Shane Lowry after his suspension – Reda Johnson may miss out. Jim Paterson, David Gray (both hamstring), Darcy Blake (heel) and Rory Fallon (ankle) are concerns.
COVENTRY have doubts over on-loan Richard Wood (ankle). Sammy Clingan (broken toe) could feature again, Dimi Konstantopoulos (knock) is a concern but Jordan Clarke (knee) is injured.
QPR v Sheff Utd
QPR boss Paul Hart will give late fitness tests to Gary Borrowdale (abdominal strain), Steven Reid (hamstring) and Matt Connolly (pelvis). Radek Cerny, Akos Buzsaky. Gavin Mahon, Lee Cook and Martin Rowlands are injured but Angelo Balanta is fit.
The BLADES have Nick Montgomery back from suspension, and will give a late test to an un-named player.
Scunthorpe v Ipswich
The IRON could have Cliff Byrne (hamstring) and Martyn Woolford (foot) ready, while Joe Murphy returns from suspension. Kenny Milne (knee) and Ben May (ankle) are out.
IPSWICH have skipper Jon Walters and midfielder Grant Leadbitter suspended, but Alex Bruce (groin) and Lee Martin (heel) could return. David Norris (knee) is close to a return.
Sheff Wed v Swansea
WEDNESDAY, who parted company with Brian Laws as manager, have no new injuries or suspensions. On-loan Warren Feeney and Tom Soares are pushing for starts.
SWANSEA’s Tom Butler (knee) and Stephen Dobbie (ankle) should both return from injury. Mark Gower is still out with a hamstring problem, while skipper Garry Monk still has a calf problem.
Newcastle v Middlesbrough
TOON’s Shola Ameobi, Nile Ranger, Marlon Harewood and Peter Lovenkrands are all pushing to start up front. Midfielder Joey Barton (foot) is their only long-term absentee.
BORO winger Adam Johnson is out after injuring his hamstring against Cardiff. He may return just after Christmas. Skipper Gary O’Neil should return after his concussion and calf injury.
