Betfred have cut Big Buck’s to 4/6 for the World Hurdle following the news that one of his major market rivals, Diamond Harry, may go novice chasing in 2010.
Diamond Harry has been given a 10/1 quote for the RSA Chase and eased to 10/1 from 7/1 for the World Hurdle on the back of the news by Coral.
Spokesman Simon Clare told betrescue.com “Big Buck’s is the shortest priced favourite by far for next year’s Cheltenham Festival and, having comfortably beaten Karabak and Diamond Harry at Newbury yesterday, he will be impossible to oppose come next March”.
Meanwhile, Stan James have opened a market without Big Bucks after the latest triumph in the rescheduled Long Walk Hurdle at Newbury yesterday.
Head of PR Charlie McCann: “Big Bucks looks the banker of the Festival and we have tried to add spice into the World Hurdle market by betting without the Paul Nicholls’ star. We make yesterday’s Long Walk runner up Karabak the 5/2 favourite from Diamond Harry who may go down the RSA route as per trainer Nick Williams. If Diamond Harry goes down the Novice Chase route Big Bucks may go off at a price on the day similar to what the mighty Istabraq did in his prime for the Champion Hurdle”.
