Argentina striker Sergio Aguero insists he has no intention of leaving Atletico Madrid this winter amid transfer speculation linking him to Chelsea.
Aguero is one of the players being talked about in the media as a possible big-money signing for Chelsea during the January transfer window with the Blues set to lose Michael Essien, Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel on African Nations Cup duty.
However, the 21-year-old Aguero was quoted as telling Marca: “I want to help Atletico get out of the situation they are in. I’m committed to the team and I’m not moving in the winter, whatever anyone says.”
He added: “I will talk about the future when there is something to say. And the first people I will talk to are the directors of the club.”
Atletico have endured a dismal start to the season, and are in the Primera Division relegation zone after winning just one of their opening 11 games and being knocked out of the Champions League at the group stages.
