Live on SS1: Thu 10.00 & 18.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Austrian Open and The Tour Champs and picks his Selections:
The PGA Tour reaches a climax this weekend with the top 30 players battling it out for The Tour Championship at East Lakes Atlanta and it is no suprise Luke Donald is 6/1 market leader with Coral.
Course experience is vital here and I like the chances of Adam Scott at 16/1 (bet365) and forgotten man Phil Mickleson who won here in 2000 and in impressive fashion in 2009 when he was a 25/1 chance, this week he is 22/1 with Skybet.
Of the bigger prices, Hunter Mahan looks over the odds at 33/1 with Ladbrokes while Stan James offer a tempting 70/1 on VJ Singh, who has also tasted victory here before.
The Austrian Open market is headed by 3 times Major winner Padraig Harrington at 12/1 () but the player I like is Tommy Fleetwood available at 40/1 with Coral.
Fleetwood won in Kazakhstan on the Challange Tour and is a young player whom looks sure to make a big impact on the European Tour over next few years and is well worth taking a chance with at rewarding odds this week.
At 33/1 with Betfred, Ireland’s Damian McGrane, who finished tied 6th here last year, should give each way backers a good run for their money.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
