BARRISTON THE BOLD (2.00) has a tricky wide draw to overcome at Chester but has plenty up his sleeve on official figures. Tom Dascombe’s colt, a winner at Sandown on his penultimate start, was denied a clear passage on a return visit to the Esher track 10 days ago.
SURYA (4.25) is bred in the purple, being a son of Frankel out of dual Oaks winner Sariska, and he is getting his act together for John Gosden. Surya returns from a 71-day break seeking a hat-trick in the 1m 6f handicap at Haydock.
DANCETERIA (3.40) has enjoyed a very fruitful season and the icing on the cake could come in the bet365 Cambridgeshire Handicap at Newmarket.
David Menuisier’s three-year-old has scored four times through the summer months and although his winning sequence came to a halt at the Curragh earlier this month, Danceteria did well under the circumstances to finish fifth having been set too much to do from the rear of the 19-runner field. Fran Berry takes the mount, emerging from stall 10.
Via Serendipity has been a money-spinner for Stuart Williams, winning at Ascot and Sandown in midsummer, and he should give his backers a good run from their money. He is drawn on the opposite side of the track in stall 33. Wissahickon looks best of the John Gosden team, having won four of his six starts.
Aidan O’Brien’s TEN SOVEREIGNS (3.00) defends his unbeaten record in the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes. His colt has won both starts at the Curragh and is a leading contender for next season’s Classic honours. Jash could be best of the home contingent, romping home by nine lengths at Salisbury last time.
PRETTY POLLYANNA (2.25) had to dig deep to hold off Signora Cabello in the Prix Morny at Deauville and is expected to confirm the form when they lock horns again in the Cheveley Park Stakes.
