Live on Skysports 1: Fri 12.30: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Ryder Cup action, live from Medinah. Selections.
Despite his tremendous win at East Lake at the weekend Brandt Snedeker is the complete outsider at 16/1 with Ladbrokes to be top American points scorer in this weeks Ryder Cup and it is USA who are attracting all the big early cash at 8/11 with William Hill to regain The Ryder Cup at Medinah near Chicago this week.
Europe can be backed at 7/4 at Betvictor while a draw 14/14 which would be enough for Europe to retain The Ryder Cup is 11/1 with Bet365.
Once again I expect The Ryder Cup to be a thriller with little to choose between the two sides and a 15/13 victory for USA at 10/1 looks a decent price in the correct score Market at Stan James
There are plenty of specials flying around and Paddy Power offering money back on any match where your player or team are leading at 12th and fail to win is great value for the punter especially in the foursomes and Sundays Singles where things change very quickly. Tiger Woods has not the best Ryder Cup record but will still be hard to beat on a douse where the fairways are very fair and the rough not to penal and at 5/1 is a generous price to be top USA points scorer at Skybet while at 8/1 look no further than Ian Poulter who thrives at Ryder Cup to be the top points scorer for Europe at William Hill.
One word of caution the singles matches can be a non event once The Cup is one or lost so concentrate on the early matches on Sunday or play in running when it looks likely the match my go down to the wire!
Always look for the value and remember a lead in four balls is far more significant than in foursomes and the magic score required to win The Ryder Cup is 14.5 points.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
