Live on Skysports 1 & 4: Thu 10.30 & Fri 20.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Omega Masters and the Deutsche Bank. Selections.
Peter Hanson heads the market at 16/1 via William Hill for this weeks Omega European Masters with last week’s Gleneagles winner Paul Lawrie sure to be popular at 22/1 (Betfred). Lawrie played some superb golf on Sunday to get the job done and has to be a factor again this week.
I liked the way Aussie Brett Rumford played last week and he has some great form at Crans Sur Sierre – including a win in 2007 – and looks well over the odds here at 55/1 with Stan James.
Matteo Manassero did not play at Glenagles but should go well here and can be backed at 22/1 with Paddy Power and while Brandon Grace has gone slightly off the boil since taking the tour by storm earlier in the year, he has a better chance here than his 50/1 odds suggest at Boylesports.
The Deutsche Bank starts on Friday and Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods are joint favourites at 11/1 courtesy of Skybet.
I like the chances of Adam Scott here at 28/1 (Totepool) while you cannot rule out another big week for VJ Singh, available at a tasty 80/1 at bet365.
Brandt Snedeker (25/1, Ladbrokes) and Dustin Johnson (18/1, Skybet), along with Rickie Fowler (50/1, Coral), have a last chance to impress US Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III and are all likely to be well supported while Bud Cauley continues to catch the eye and should give backers a decent each way run for their money at a generous looking 70/1 (bet365).
Good luck
Angus Loughran
