Live on Skysports 1: Thu 18.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s US PGA Championship at Kiawah Island GC. Selections.
Tiger Woods heads the market at 10/1 with Blue Square for this weeks PGA Championship and at worse a saver is suggested at this price as I expect him to contend.
Adam Scott has a chance to bounce back quickly after his Open collapse and on a course that should suit him, the current 33/1 shot at Skybet is well worth taking a chance with. Kyle Stanley bounced back earlier in the year after losing a big lead at Torrey Pines to win at Phoenix the following week while Rory Mcllroy showed how to do it after his Masters meltdown by bouncing back in the US Open. Adam Scott can take great heart from others but knows there is no better time to win that first Major.
Padraig Harrington looks a decent each way bet at 55/1 with Stan James. He had a big chance in the US Open and will find Kiawah Island an ideal test.
Dustin Johnson is the other player who I like the chances of and at 33/1 (BetVictor) is a decent price; his length off the tee will be very helpful on this long course.
Lee Westwood at 25/1 (Betfred) should also have a decent week and really deserves a Major while Rickie Fowler at 50/1 (bet365) should also go well but Adam Scott at 30/1 is my main pick to bounce back and land his first Major after his near miss last month at Lytham.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
