Live on Skysports 1 & 3: Thu 09.30 & 20.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Open de France and the Greenbrier Classic. Selections.
The countdown to The Open Championship continues with the Open de France at Le Golf National Paris, a venue for the Ryder Cup in 6 years time.
Lee Westwood, very much part of this year’s European Ryder Cup Team that takes on the USA at Medinah in September, is solid market leader here at 13/2 with Skybet and is the man the others all have to beat.
Miguel Angel Jiminez looks a great each way bet at 90/1 with bet365 while the same firm are also 90/1 on Gregory Bourdy of France. Mark Foster, who was runner up to Thomas Levet here last year, should go well again and is decent each way value at 50/1 with Betfred.
Tiger Woods does not often play the week after a win but when he does he usually wins which makes Paddy Power’s 7/2 about a win in this week’s Greenbrier Classic very reasonable.
Webb Simpson, the US Open Champion, should go well at 16/1 (Boylesports) while Bill Haas at 50/1 via Ladbrokes is the each way value, having missed out in a 3-way playoff here last year.
Woods is the man to beat here and if he prevails, the 6/1 for Lytham won’t last long!
Good luck
Angus Loughran
