Live on Skysports 1 & 3: Wed 10.00 & 20.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Nordea Masters and the St Jude Classic. Selections.
Rory Mcllroy is 11/1 with Betfred to win this week’s Fedex St Jude Classic which starts on Thursday and does not appeal to win his final event before he defends the US Open in San Francisco next week.
I like the chances of Dustin Johnson this week at 20/1 (bet365) while Spencer Levin will have learnt a lot last week behind Tiger Woods at Muirfield Village and should go well at 40/1 via Ladbrokes.
Tiger Woods’ victory on Sunday was a great result for followers of this article and the bookies are running scared that Tiger will win next week’s US Open by offering only 6/1 (Coral).
The Scandanavian Masters starts on WEDNESDAY to enable players to get to San Francisco and Lee Westwood is 11/1 market leader at Boylesports to go there as a winner. He should go well and has a big chance next week at 16/1 (Blue Square) on a course that suits the straight drivers of which Lee is leader in that field.
I like Dane Thorbjorn Olsen at 25/1 with Paddy Power. He put in a decent effort in Wales last week and should give backers a good run for their money while Eduardo Molinari looks over the odds at 45/1 with Betfred and the Italian, although out of form at present, has some solid course form having finished 3rd here behind shock winner Richard Johnson two years ago.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
